This series is in honor of the final months of pregnancy, when a woman unselfishly shares her body with an unborn child. It's a very short, beautiful window of time in a woman's life that is sometimes forgotten. It is a time between two worlds. When two or more lives inhabit one body, anticipation is present, a miracle is about to happen, and she is the vehicle through which it will take place. - Tamara Trejo |

| Infancy gallery - The baby's body is so small and fragile but the spirit is so big it fills the room. The new soul is still so connected to heaven, it hasn't yet been enveloped by the earthly body or gained the earthly consciousness. The body must sleep... The caretakers must hush and recognize the slow entrance of the new heavenly soul into the tiny body. The busyness of life will come soon enough, for now just enjoy these sleepy moments. As an artist, I record and create art from this special time. I am still in awe and honored to be in the presence of a precious new human. - Tamara Trejo |

| Childhood gallery - I love my job, because I get to be with delicate, joyful, children.
For them, there is only the present moment. They are born knowing how to sing and dance and do it freely. When I step into their world of make believe, my stories become real.
Maybe we really did see the beautiful mermaid frolicking in the waves with the dolphins. I love to watch their state of wonderment as they scan the vast horizon to glimpse the fairytale. They are natural builders and artists and will make a sandcastle in an instant or draw wet sand mandalas, without a thought of what will happen to their works. They shine with the light of the universe and bring me to a place of laughter, fantasy and creativity. As long as taking pictures of kids is my job, I'll always find joy in my work. - Tamara Trejo |
